Evolutionarily, ferns are some of our oldest plants. They reproduce using spores rather than flowers or seeds, and they usually have long stems with rows of leaves coming out on either side.
What are some examples of ferns?
Here in Oregon, some examples of native ferns include sword fern, maidenhair fern, licorice fern, deer fern, lady fern, bracken fern, oak fern, and coastal shield fern.
